One of the things guests remember most about Duck Creek Village is the wildlife. Hummingbirds buzz the feeders on the deck while you drink your morning coffee. Mule deer graze the meadow across the road, sometimes wandering right up to the inn. At 8,400 feet on the Markagunt Plateau in Dixie National Forest, the village sits in the middle of serious habitat — and the animals know it. You don't need to plan a wildlife expedition. For hummingbirds, the inn's feeders are the easiest show in town — just take your coffee outside. For broader birding, Duck Creek Pond and Aspen Mirror Lake are reliable spots. Fall is exceptional: elk rut, migration, and aspen color all overlap in September and early October.
