Información útil

  • Zion is open 24/7, year-round — "is it open" almost always means shuttle, trail, or permit status, which the alerts below cover.
  • From Duck Creek Village you enter through the quieter east side; Springdale-side alerts (parking, shuttle lines) matter less to you.
  • Check this page the morning you drive; alerts are re-checked on every visit.

Caution Stage 2 fire restrictions in effect

No setting, building, maintaining, attending, or using open fires of any kind in the park. This includes campfires and charcoal fires in Watchman Campground, South Campground, and picnic areas in Zion Canyon. Stoves fueled by petroleum or liquid propane gas are allowed. Smoking is prohibited, except within an enclosed vehicle.

Caution Large vehicle restrictions now in effect for Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway

As of June 7, 2026, the park is enforcing size and weight limits for vehicles on the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway. Vehicles that exceed length, width, height, or weight limits cannot travel between Canyon Junction and the park's East Entrance. See the current limits on the page linked below.

Caution Toxic Cyanobacteria in the Virgin River and the streams of Zion National Park

Do not submerge your head in or filter drinking water from still or moving water.

Information Angels Landing Pilot Permit Program

Everyone who hikes Angels Landing needs to have a permit. Learn why you need a permit and how to get one. This requirement does not affect entering the park or riding the park shuttle (when it is running).

Information Please park legally and responsibly in Zion National Park and the Town of Springdale

Zion has limited parking space. Park only in designated stalls. Vehicles parked outside of designated stalls are subject to citation and may be towed. Once all designated parking stalls in Zion are full, visitors should park in Springdale.

Reading Zion conditions from Duck Creek Village

Most Zion alerts are written for the Springdale crowd — parking, shuttle lines, South Entrance traffic. Coming from the inn, you skip nearly all of that: the east entrance on the Zion–Mt Carmel Highway is about an hour away, and east-side trails never need the shuttle. The alerts that do matter to you are trail closures, the Virgin River (Narrows) advisories, tunnel and large-vehicle restrictions, and fire restrictions.

Pair this page with our Zion day-trip guide for route and trail planning, and check Highway 14 conditions before the drive down the plateau — especially October through May.

De dónde vienen estos datos

Everything in the live sections above comes straight from the National Park Service Data API — the same feed behind nps.gov — rendered unedited with a timestamp. The page refreshes at least every 15 minutes, and alerts are re-checked on every visit. We run the inn up the plateau in Duck Creek Village and drive these roads ourselves; when something big changes in the parks, this page knows before we do.

Preguntas de planificación

Is Zion National Park open today?

Zion is open every day of the year, 24 hours a day. What changes day to day is the shuttle schedule, individual trail closures, and safety alerts — the live list above is pulled from the National Park Service and re-checked on every visit to this page.

Do I need a reservation or timed entry to get into Zion?

No — Zion has no timed-entry system. You only need the entrance fee or a parks pass. The one big exception is Angels Landing, which requires a permit from the seasonal or day-before lottery on recreation.gov.

Does the shuttle affect visitors coming from Duck Creek Village?

Less than you would think. From the inn you arrive through the east entrance on the Zion–Mt Carmel Highway, and east-side highlights like Canyon Overlook need no shuttle. You only board the shuttle if you continue into Zion Canyon during shuttle season.

Where do these alerts come from?

Directly from the National Park Service Data API — the same source that powers nps.gov. We show them unedited, with a timestamp, and refresh them on every page visit.
