Kanab's Balloons and Tunes Roundup brings about 40 hot air balloon pilots to town February 19 to 21, 2027. Balloons launch at 7:30 a.m. all three mornings (weather permitting) from the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course at 755 Fairway Drive. Friday: vendor fair 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and live music 3 to 7 p.m. on W 100 N Main Street, then the Lantern Launch Festival at 7 p.m. just northwest of the vendor fair (weather permitting). Saturday: the vendor fair and live music all day, the Balloon Glow at 7 p.m. on Center Street and Highway 89, and a wrap-up concert at 8 p.m. Sunday ends with one last morning launch. Flights are never guaranteed. Balloonmeister Bryan Hill gives a pilot weather report at each launch, and the event's Facebook page posts whether balloons, lanterns and the glow are on. If it's too windy, rainy or snowy, the lantern launch is cancelled but pilots put on a candlestick show on Center Street Saturday night instead. Lanterns can be returned to the Kane County Treasurer's Office (76 N Main, Kanab) for $1 each. Drones are only allowed in the designated drone zone. Kanab is about 1 hour 15 minutes south of Duck Creek Village. Check Highway 14 and US-89 conditions before an early February drive.
