Inside the two village stores
Cedar Mountain Country Store runs as a True Value hardware store with a grocery aisle bolted on. That sounds like a compromise and works better than it reads. The store names Meadow Gold dairy, meat from Kanab Meats and Organic Girl greens in its own product list, so breakfast and a skillet dinner come off those shelves without a drive. Propane fills, a beer cave, fishing and camp supplies, ice cream and a coffee bar take up the floor space around it.

One backup deserves a mention because maps keep it quiet. A Phillips 66 sits at Long Valley Junction, 11 miles east at the US 89 turn, with a small store attached. Treat it as a forgotten milk run, not a grocery trip.

The Duck Creek Area Chamber of Commerce runs the Duck Creek Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 10 to 2, late May through Labor Day weekend, with local produce, dairy, baked goods, honey, jams and salsa on the tables. The 2026 season ran May 23 to September 5, so it has wrapped for the year. Plan a Saturday around it from late May onward and the produce problem solves itself for a week.

Utah State University Extension puts the drop at about 2 degrees for every 1,000 feet of elevation. At 8,507 feet, a rolling pot tops out near 195 degrees rather than 212, so anything cooked in water runs behind the timer printed on the package.
