Moqui Cave is a sandstone cave about 5 miles north of Kanab on U.S. Route 89, operated as a museum. It was originally a sand mine, then served as a speakeasy during Prohibition and later as a tavern and dance hall. In 1951 the Chamberlains turned it into a tourist attraction; today it houses one of the largest fluorescent mineral displays in the United States (under blacklights), plus dinosaur tracks, Native American artifacts, fossils, and arrowheads. The interior stays cool, never exceeding about 65°F.
