Three stations near the village set the February numbers

Duck Creek Village has no working weather station, so the numbers here come from three neighbors. The Assay fire weather station sits at 8,100 feet, six miles east. Panguitch Lake reports from 8,300 feet, and the Harris Flat snow site from 7,800 feet in a meadow five miles southeast. Their February afternoons average 41.9, 42.0 and 41.8F, a spread of two tenths of a degree.

Nights split by terrain, the pattern our December weather post found. Assay averages 19.2F and Panguitch Lake 17.3F. Harris Flat averages 11.2F, because cold air drains off the slopes after dark and pools in flat meadow ground. That meadow drops to zero or below on about five February nights a year. Midway Valley, at 9,830 feet near the Highway 14 summit, runs nine degrees colder by day, with a 33.1F average high and a dozen afternoons that never reach freezing.

Expect a few warm days, too. Harris Flat and Panguitch Lake reach 40F on about 17 February afternoons, and Assay has hit 63F twice, on February 13, 2015 and February 24, 2026. The month gains a full hour of daylight, from sunset at 5:56 pm on February 1 to 6:25 pm on February 28.
